ABSTRACTS
Abstracts of papers intended for presentation should be submitted by the deadline set in the Call for Papers. Abstracts should observe style conventions as exemplified in the Tire Science and Technology journal. Use the example abstract found here as a template for submission.
Abstracts must be submitted via email to the conference chair at this email address: conference@tiresociety.org. No submissions will be accepted via regular postal mail.
We encourage students and young professionals to submit abstracts. The best paper authored and presented by a full-time university student will receive a cash prize. Please indicate in your abstract submission email if the paper should be considered as a student paper.
Please note that submitted abstracts may be used by The Tire Society under ‘fair use’ to advertise the conference in published material, on the society’s website and on social media, and may be edited for publication for grammar and to provide consistent style.
NOTIFICATION of ACCEPTANCE
After the abstract submission deadline, all submitted abstracts will be reviewed and considered by a panel of Tire Society Conference Committee members. The panel will select abstracts for acceptance for presentations approximately four months prior to the annual meeting and conference. The exact date for this deadline will be published in the Call for Papers.
The authors will be notified via e-mail of their acceptance and given further instruction at that time.
PRESENTATION INFORMATION
Speakers are allotted 15 minutes for the conference presentation, which will be followed by a 5 minute question and answer session.
All presentation material, author biographical information, and the signed Transfer of Copyright Agreement must be submitted to the Tire Society approximately two months prior to the annual meeting and conference. The exact date for this deadline will be published in the Call for Papers and included in the notification of acceptance.
The Transfer of Copyright Agreement can be found here.
AWARDS
Paper presentations are judged for Superior Paper and Honorable Mention Awards by an Awards Committee and the general audience. Awards will be presented at the following year’s annual meeting and conference.
Please note: To be eligible for awards, the paper manuscript must be submitted by the announced deadline. See the next section for more details about the manuscript.
A special Superior Student Paper Cash Award of $500 will be given to the best paper authored and presented by a full-time university student. To be eligible for the student paper award, the manuscript must be submitted prior to the conference. The student paper award will be presented at the conference following the student presentations.
MANUSCRIPT
All presenters are expected to submit a journal-quality manuscript for publication in the peer-reviewed journal Tire Science and Technology. Final paper manuscripts must be submitted online by the deadline approximately two months after the conference, unless prior arrangements have been made with the program chair. The exact date for this deadline can be found in the Call for Papers and will be included in the acceptance notification email.
Please note: Student paper manuscripts must be submitted prior to the conference to be eligible for an award.
Only papers not previously published will be accepted, and authors must agree not to publish elsewhere the primary content of a paper submitted to and accepted by the Tire Science and Technology journal.
